भारत में जलमार्गों का ऐतिहासिक महत्व रहा है, और आधुनिक समय में भी यह परिवहन का एक महत्वपूर्ण साधन बना हुआ है। इसी महत्व को ध्यान में रखते हुए भारत सरकार ने वर्ष 1986 में भारतीय अंतर्देशीय जलमार्ग प्राधिकरण (Inland Waterways Authority of India – IWAI) की स्थापना की थी। इस प्राधिकरण का मुख्य उद्देश्य देश में अंतर्देशीय जलमार्गों के विकास, रखरखाव और प्रबंधन को सुचारू रूप से संचालित करना है।
IWAI का उद्देश्य और कार्य भारतीय अंतर्देशीय जलमार्ग प्राधिकरण का मुख्य उद्देश्य अंतर्देशीय जलमार्गों का विकास करना है ताकि उन्हें प्रभावी ढंग से परिवहन के लिए उपयोग में लाया जा सके। इसके तहत नदी, नहर, और झीलों जैसी जलमार्गों का विकास और उनका संरक्षण किया जाता है। IWAI का कार्य इन जलमार्गों को नौपरिवहन योग्य बनाने के लिए आवश्यक संरचनाओं का निर्माण करना, जैसे कि लॉक, बैराज, और घाट बनाना, ताकि इनका उपयोग माल और यात्रियों के परिवहन के लिए किया जा सके।
अभी इस विभाग में Various भर्ती के 38 पदों की भर्ती निकली है जो 16 अगस्त 2024 से 21 सितम्बर 2024 तक उसके आवेदन करना होगा। इस भर्ती में न्यूनतम 18 साल और अधिकतम 35 साल की उम्र मांगी गई है। इस भर्ती में आवेदक की फीस 500/- रूपये मात्र है जो कि समान्य , अन्य पिछणा वर्ग के लिए लागू है और एस.सी./ एस.टी. आवेदक के परीक्षा फॉर्म का शुल्क 200/ रूपये मात्र है। जो इन्टरनेट बैंकीग , यूपीआई, क्रेडिट कार्ड या डेबिट कार्ड के माध्यम से शुल्क जामा कर सकते है।
इस भर्ती मे न्यूनतम एजुकेशन सरकार कि किसी मान्यता प्राप्त यूनिर्वसिटी से न्यूनतम स्नातक परीक्षा पास कर लेनी चहिए। अभ्यर्थियों के पास उत्तीर्ण प्रमाणपत्र होना चाहिए।
