इंडिया में 1 दिसंबर 1965 को (Border Security Force) बार्डर स्क्योरिटी फोर्स (बी.एस.एफ.) स्थापित हुई थी। यह एक प्रमुख अर्धअर्धसैनिक बल है। है। यह सेना इंडिया की सीमा की रक्षा तथा शांति बनाए रखती है। यह बी.एस.एफ. भारत-पाकिस्तान और भारत-बांग्लादेश की सीमाओं पर अपनी भूमिका निभाते है। इस फोर्स का निमार्ण भारत-पाकिस्तान के युध्‍य के बाद हुआ था। इस बी.एस.एफ. का मुख्यालय नई दिल्ली में स्थित है। समय समय में इस फोर्स मे भर्ती निकलती रहती है। इस भर्ती में दो चरण में परीक्षा होती है पहली लिखित परीक्षा और दूसरी फिसीकल फिटनेस की। इस फोर्स का कार्य सीमा सुरक्षा, घुसपैठ रोकना, आंतरिक सुरक्षा, आपदा प्रबंधन करना है।
