Academy of National Defence (NDA):
The first tri-service academy in the world, the National Defence Academy is located in Khadakwasla, Maharashtra, close to Pune. The largest naval academy in Asia, it was founded in 2009 and is well-known for its extensive training facilities and cutting-edge infrastructure. The Naval Academy’s curriculum is designed to specifically address the demands of naval operations and warfare. In disciplines including engineering, navigation, maritime studies, and naval warfare tactics, cadets receive a demanding education. In addition, they undergo specialized training in ship handling, naval operations, and seamanship to get them ready for the demands of service at sea.
The Naval Academy, with its large fleet of training boats and simulators, provides a rare combination of academic knowledge and real-world experience. During training exercises at sea, cadets get the chance to put what they’ve learned in the classroom into practical situations, which helps them gain the confidence and abilities needed to command naval ships and groups.
Cadets at the Naval Academy are commissioned as officers in the Indian Navy upon completion of their training, and they serve on ships, submarines, aircraft, and naval stations both domestically and overseas.
